Spring is finally arriving and you know what that means.It is time to take care of the plants.

The balcony is full, almost too full. P*ts everywhere, tools in the way, bags of soil waiting to be used.

I step outside in my Birkenstock with the red straps and the white soles, ready to bring everything back into shape.

But space is limited. One small movement and something shifts. A p*t tilts. Soil spills out onto the green carpet beneath my feet. I keep moving.

Without noticing every l*ttle detail, I step forward again. Earth spreads across the surface and before I even think about it, my next step lands directly into it. Soft. Loose. Yielding.

Soon it is no longer just soil lying there. It becomes something else as I move around the crowded space. Things fall. Something gets platt gemacht. Something is zertreten without intention.

Step by step, the loose earth is worked deeper into the carpet, pressed in and spread further. The white soles begin to collect it, carrying the dark traces with every movement. By the end, what started as simple gardening turns into a thick layer of Matsch beneath me. Spring can be messy after all.

Der Frühling steht vor der Tür und du weißt, was das bedeutet. Es ist Zeit, sich um d*e Pflanzen zu kümmern.

Der Balkon ist vollgestellt, fast zu voll. Töpfe überall, Werkzeug im Weg, Säcke mit Erde bereit. Ich trete hinaus in meinen Birkenstock mit den roten Riemchen und den weißen Sohlen, bereit, alles wieder in Ordnung zu bringen.

Doch der Platz ist begrenzt.

Eine kleine Bewegung und schon kippt etwas. Ein Topf fällt um und Erde verteilt sich auf dem grünen Teppich unter meinen Füßen. Ich mache weiter. Ohne auf jedes Detail zu achten, trete ich erneut vor. D*e Erde breitet sich aus und noch bevor ich darüber nachdenke, lande ich direkt darin.

Weich. Locker. Nachgiebig.

Bald liegt dort nicht mehr nur lose Erde. Sie verändert sich mit jeder Bewegung. Dinge fallen. Etwas wird platt gemacht. Etwas wird ganz ungewollt zertreten.

Schritt für Schritt wird d*e Erde tiefer in den Teppich getreten, verteilt und weiter eingedrückt. D*e weißen Sohlen sammeln sie dabei, nehmen d*e dunklen Spuren mit jedem Schritt auf. Am Ende wird aus der Gartenarbeit ein dicker Matsch unter mir. Frühling kann eben auch chaotisch sein.
