Gigi was nearing the end of her rope. Their intern had been a constant thorn in her side ever since he’d been assigned to shadow her. He never took notes, ignored every task she gave him, and somehow still managed to charm the boss into thinking he was a rising star. Gigi, meanwhile, was left to pick up the slack and grind through the work of two people. So, when she walked into the office one morning and found his desk empty yet again, her eye twitched with barely restrained frustration.

As the hours p*ssed and he was still nowhere to be found, Gigi went snooping. She didn’t expect much—maybe he’d slipped off to the break room to nap or ducked out for an "extended coffee run." But when she sat down and glanced at the floor, something bizarre caught her eye: a tiny figure, no taller than an inch, waving frantically from the ground. It was him. The intern. Somehow, impossibly, he had shrunk himself.

"I can’t believe you shrunk yourself just to get out of doing your job," she muttered, scooping him up between two fingers. The tiny intern squeaked out a panicked excuse, but Gigi was already thinking. Her feet were aching from a week’s worth of overtime, and here he was—finally small enough to be useful. She plopped down, kicked off her boots, and dropped him down between her feet. “Start rubbing,” she commanded flatly. “You owe me about twenty hours of backlogged effort.”

He worked frantically—partially out of guilt, mostly out of fear—but the novelty wore off quickly. Gigi sighed, just as she heard the boss’s voice echoing down the hallway. Panicking, she scooped up the l*ttle intern and—after a moment’s hesitation—tossed him into her mouth to hide him. “Hey! Just finishing up a few reports,” she said with a practiced smile as her boss stepped in.

As the door closed and the moment p*ssed, Gigi sat still, tongue pressed to the roof of her mouth. She glanced down at her chaotic desk, then back toward the door. A slow grin spread across her face. “Let’s be honest,” she whispered. “You weren’t going to do anything very useful at this size anyway.”

After teasing him with her tongue for a while just to play with her food she held him high above her head. She lowered him slowly into her waiting mouth. And with a final gulp, she sealed his fate—her workload finally a l*ttle lighter for once.
