Gigi had a long day. Her towering frame creaked as she stepped into the apartment, the floorboards groaning under her sandals. She just stood tall, arms folded, watching them scramble. “I didn’t say you could have people over,” she said again, quieter this time. “And I don’t let uninvited guests leave.”

He was trembling. He’d never seen her like this. But deep down, some part of him knew—he’d crossed a line.
