The giant had not meant to find the city.

He was wandering through a wide, empty plain at dusk, his thoughts drifting like the low clouds above, when he noticed something unusual beneath his boot. A faint shimmer. A strange, geometric glint in the grass. He knelt, and the earth trembled.

To him, it was a careless step, a small adjustment of balance. To those below, it was a falling mountain. The ground buckled. Buildings collapsed into dust. Escape ended beneath the weight of something vast and indifferent.

Soon the plain was quiet again.
