I uncurl to stretch myself out across the couch and closer to my bony co-star. “You made a pretty big skeleton pile,” I purr to the bones beside me. “Yes. Yes, you did.” I play with the skull like it’s a prop from a twisted burlesque. “I even drilled a l*ttle h*le in the top,” I say, holding it out like a trophy and tapping a freshly drilled h*le on the dome.

A series of loud cha-ch*ng sounds interrupts me. My eyes light up. “What’s that?” I glance toward the screen. “You want me to give the skeleton a lap dance?” I pause with a sly grin, playing coy until the sound of money erupts from my screen. Cha-ch*ng! Cha-ch*ng! “Okay, okay, fine. You’ve convinced me.”

I saunter upright, arching my back and straddling the bones. “Hello, Mr. Skeleton. Mr. Ex-bestie.” My voice drips with amused mockery, and my hips move in a teasing rhythm, cheeks jiggling with each calculated bump. “Cemetery hookup, butt magic, spell completion - it’s been quite the night.”- I smack and jiggle my backside - “I mean, look at this big ol’ juicy thing I got right here.”

A bubble of pressure stirs my gut like a witch’s brew. I know that feeling. Yep - there’s one definitely brewing. I reposition myself, butt in the air, gently jiggling my cheeks, and giving my butt a few slaps to help coax it loose.

“Oooh, that’s so bad.” I fan behind me with one hand. “It’s like someone microwaved evil.”

I shift a l*ttle closer to the camera and my bestie’s ghost, voice low and vibrating. “Your bully dared me to record the whole evacuation and send it out to everyone you ever cared about. And I never turn down a dare.” A loud whoosher sneaks out mid-sentence - Pffrrrrrrrbt - and I wiggle with satisfaction. “Ohhh, that was one of those drive-by types. Not even a warning knock.”

Still half-bent over, I murmur to the ghost, “It’s time. Let’s read some reactions.”

I reach for the nearby phone - his phone - and scroll dramatically. “Hmm, where should I start?” I hum, eyes flicking across the screen. I clear my throat with exaggeration and begin reading in a breathless voice. “ What is this? Wait, is that him? How could you do something like this to him and then send it to me? Why?! ” I pause for effect, glancing sideways.

A quiet hiss bubbles out from beneath me, almost like a punctuation mark. I smirk, extra satisfied.

I scroll again, fingers tapping lazily. “ You’re a monster! ” Another smirk. “You’re welcome.”

Another message. I read it with a sing-song lilt. “ I always suspected you were no good. And you just proved it. Don’t ever message me again. I’m blocking you, you heartless c*nt! ” I pause, eyebrows raised, “Someone was feeling spicy.”

I shift my weight, jiggling my hips for emphasis as another gassy gust slips out.

I tap a few more times, scrolling through the replies. “ WTF? Why did you send me this? ” I mimic the tone of a panicked step-bro. “ You freakin’ backstabbing b*tch! Oof. Real original.” - I roll my eyes dramatically.

Then one final gem: “ What a terrible thing to do to somebody. ” I give a mock-solemn nod. “Yeah, totally. Awful. Tragic.”

With a self-important sigh, I sink sideways onto the couch, snuggling in close to the skeleton. I guide its stiff hand to rest gently on the swell of my *ss like a silent endorsement of everything I’ve done.

A slow, lingering burble creeps up from my belly and exits somewhere between a burp and a grunt. I rub my belly. “This feels right.”
