I wonder out loud what to do; cancel the blind date, go home and get new shoes but end up being really late, or just carry on and hope you don’t notice? I go with the latter, and continue towards the restaurant, hobbling slightly. When I arrive I try to hide my un-shoed foot behind my leg and make small talk. I’m so embarrassed, I know you must think I’m a total mess, especially as I didn’t even put matching socks on today! What kind of woman shows up to a blind date with odd socks and one shoe missing?! But you seem to like it. I grow confident, realising my one-shoed state turns you on, and I start teasing you with it.
