So my friend Rose is a lot. In the best way, but still a lot.

She’s a singer, and not just any singer, like, bl*w-you-away vocals, old-school soul vibes with a 1950s pin-up aesthetic that she somehow pulls off effortlessly. Think red lips, winged eyeliner, vintage curls, and a wardrobe full of polka dots and sass. She's got this bold, firecracker energy, always cr*cking sarcastic jokes, tossing around dramatic eyerolls, and acting like she runs the show (because, to be fair, she often does).

I've been introducing Rose to tickling slowly. She's a big fan of Bettie Page and familiar with her b*ndage work; she shares a bit of that kink, but tickling was new territory for her. I told her I was going to make her my tickle toy, and she giggled and said to be careful that I don't break her.

I've tickled her a handful of times; she has wonderfully ticklish feet and a laugh that will end up as a snort if I h*t the right spot. She's never been locked in my stocks and toe-tied for a proper tickling.

Rose falls somewhere between enjoying being tickled and despising it. In my opinion, the best type of ticklee because she'll keep coming back for more.

Anyway, she invited me to this l*ttle concert happening that night, a mix of local performers, a few of her artsy friends, a couple of acoustic sets, that kind of thing. She wasn’t performing, just wanted to support her music friends.

She showed up at my office/studio a few hours early, all dolled up like she just walked off a rockabilly calendar, and immediately started complaining.

“Oh my G*d, are you still working?”

“Yes, Rose. It’s 4:30. The concert doesn’t even start until 8.”

“Yeah, well, I feel emotionally late.”

She flopped dramatically onto my couch, kicked off her heels, and sighed like I was keeping her prisoner. I was only half-listening to her monologue about starving or dy*ng of boredom or whatever it was. Is complaining a talent? If it is, Rose has talent to give away.

That’s when I decided she needed an attitude adjustment.

So I walked over, cr*cked my knuckles in the most ominous way possible, and said
“You need to be humbled.”

She blinked. “Excuse me?”

“I think it’s time we remind you who’s really in charge around here.”

“Oh, hell no!”

But Rose really couldn't say no. She's a tickle toy in training after all.

As the video starts, Rose is already complaining about the toe ties being too tight. I don't listen and just get to tickling. I had to make sure to tickle every bit of attitude out of her if I was going to spend the night with her.

The fun part is that Rose has plenty of attitude to give! And I have plenty of tickling to give back!

I tickle her until she's snorting and crying off her eyeliner. She hated it. She loved it. Classic Rose.

Rose had to redo her hair and makeup. She did, of course. And looked flawless again by the time we left. On the way to the venue, she still tossed sass at me, but it had a much softer edge.

Attitude adjusted.
