Twisted Ankle story and first shower

In this clip I tell the detailed story of how I *njured my ankle and foot and then struggle to take my first shower after the incident.

I was hiking and I fell, spraining my ankle! My foot must have gotten stuck between some rocks and I fell, tumbling backwards down a hill, getting covered with dirt, twigs, and leaves as I went. At first I thought I had only scraped my arm, but it soon became clear that my ankle was in bad shape. I was half a mile from my car, so my only option was to wait at a nearby road for a friendly good Samaritan to take pity on my. The only problem is, the road was up 30-45 st*ne stairs from where I was lying in the dirt.

At first I was able to hobble up a couple of steps, but then I had to switch to hopping on my right foot-- my left foot could no longer bear any weight or pressure. After a few hops though, I realized I would have to crawl up the rest of the stairs on my hands and knees. Once I reached the road, dirty and in immense p*in, I sat in a small patch of shade to wait for help-- but no one came! After 15 minutes of waiting, a car drove past, but they c*mpletely ignored my waving arms and cries for help. ten minutes later a second car drove right past me too, leaving me crying and *njured on the side of the road like trash. Finally, some kind travelers stopped to check on me and gave me a ride back to my car. I could have walked there in only ten minutes if it weren't for my bum foot!

At home my room mate helped me ice my foot, but we knew something was very wrong as soon as I tried to take my shoe off-- my foot had swollen so much inside my sneaker that she had to help me and we almost couldn't get it off. So she drove me to the Urgent Care center, where I waited for hours to get X-rays done. Luckily there were no broken bones-- however, the doctor said I have lots of soft tissue d*mage and may have *njured several tendons, and this could take even longer to heal than broken bones.

The next day, still wearing my dirty, sweaty hiking clothes from the day before, I decide it's finally time for a shower. I sit on the toilet with my leg propped up, and tearfully recount to you the story above of my injury in detail. Then, verrrrrry gingerly, I begin to undress and slowly, painfully remove my orthopedic braces-- I have a hard-bottomed shoe, an ankle stabilizer, and a cloth bandage to help my poor foot and ankle heal faster.

As I unwrap the bandage the severity of my injury becomes clear-- my foot and ankle are swollen up like a balloon and bruised bl*e and purple around my heel! I cringe and cry out in p*in, but I'm still covered in sweat and dirt from my tumble and I know I need to get clean. Once I'm c*mpletely undressed, I sit on the stool and swing my legs into the tub-- there's no way I can safely get into the shower otherwise. After using my good leg to stand and pull the detachable showerhead down, I sit in the bathtub with my *njured left leg hanging over the edge of the tub and begin to wash the previous day off my sore skin. It's difficult and painful to wash my swollen foot but I know it needs to be done, so I cry through the p*in until I'm all clean. I use a sponge to scrub my skin, I shampoo and condition my hair, and shave my legs and armpits. Then it's time to tidy up my bush.
